Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q.        My child has signed up for In-town soccer.  What team is he/she on?
A.        Teams rosters will be sent out to parents via email and also posted on the site once finalized.  In addition you will receive a phone call or email (the email used to register your child) from your child's coach prior to the start of the season.

Q.        What is my child's schedule for in-town soccer?
A.        Please go to www.cohassetsoccer.com and click on the In Town Soccer Teams link on the left side of the website.  All of the in-town age start times are listed.

Q.        I am interested in coaching, how do I volunteer?

 A.       You first need to register via the online registration/sportspilot.  There is no cost to this but it is essential in order for the club to know that you want to coach, what age catagories you want to coach and adding you to the email distribution lists.  The club sends all emails and annoucenments via these lists so it is important that you register this way.  Second you need to register for a CORI check.  This is mandatory. Information on this is on a separate tab on the website


Q.        My child is signed up for travel soccer.  When will I find out what  
team he/she is on?

A.        Travel soccer evaluations will be held at the end of the season. There wil be a travel coaches meeting before the season starts to select teams. Following the coaches meeting, team rosters will be announced and posted to the website in the Travel Soccer Teams section  

Q.        My child will be playing travel soccer.  When will they practice?   
Also, where are the games?

A.        To determine when your child will practice, go to the club website and click on the Travel Soccer Team link.  The game schedules will be distributed and posted to the website once received from the Coastal League.  Approximately 50% of the games are in Cohasset. The remaining games are played away at other towns on the South Shore.

Q.        What if my child decides they do not want to play?
A.        Please refer to the Refund Policies tab on the website.

Q.        What equipment will my child need to play?
A.        Uniforms are provided. (Shirt, Shorts and Socks)  Your child is expected to wear shin guards and soccer cleats.  They can not wear any loose jewelry during practice or games.

Q.        Can my child pick the team they want to play on or with a  
particular friend?

A.        Teams are selected in the In-town league to give parity to each team. Requests are considered, but there are no guarantees.  Please make all requests to info@cohassetsoccer.com prior to the close of registration.  No requests for placement are available for travel soccer.

Q.        If it is raining (or snowing), how do I know if soccer is canceled?
A.        In-Town cancellations will be posted to the website by 8 am. Travel league is game specific and will be notified by the coaches.
